Software that
earns its keep.

Aulson Systems builds software at the intersection of AI and real-world utility. Based in Dallas.

About

Insatiable curiosity is our North Star.

Jonathan Aulson is a technologist and management professional based in Dallas, TX. He has spent years delivering technology solutions inside complex organizations.

His personal focus is applied AI. Specifically: the knowledge systems that make AI reliable. How information gets structured, retrieved, and delivered to models at the right moment. That problem has teeth.

Aulson Systems is where those projects live.

Principles

The classics never go out of style.

01

Single Responsibility

An AI agent that tries to do everything knows nothing deeply. Scope its context, define its purpose, and it becomes reliable. Expand it, and you get expensive confusion.

02

Open/Closed

Good AI architecture accepts new capabilities without rewiring what already works. Build in layers. The foundation should never know what gets stacked on top.

03

Liskov Substitution

If your system breaks when you swap the model, you built a dependency, not a system. The model is a component, replaceable. Your architecture is the product.

04

Interface Segregation

Bloated context is not thorough, it is expensive noise. A model given only what it needs outperforms one drowning in irrelevance. Precision beats volume.

05

Dependency Inversion

Most AI systems put the model in charge. The model should be a worker, not a manager. Build the logic in the architecture. Let the model execute it.

Perspective

Hard-won beliefs. The ones that hold up.

Beliefs
The right tool for the wrong problem is still the wrong answer. Understand the problem first.
AI systems are only as good as the context they operate in. Not a detail. Not an afterthought.
Working software teaches things that no spec ever will. Foster a bias towards action.
Documentation, development, and testing are not three separate processes, they're a single loop.
Any data-based SDLC task can be automated with the correct LLM, harness framework, and context at the moment it begins.
If you can't name something clearly, you haven't understood it yet.
Every abstraction is a bet. Make that bet consciously.
How you model data is how you model reality. Get that wrong and everything fights you.
